When we first launched Bicep Press over four years ago, the print industry was thriving. It was a different time - many people were working from home, staring at blank walls, and eager to fill those spaces with art. Artists were creating large print editions, and demand was booming as buyers eagerly snapped them up.

But as the world returned to ‘normal’, priorities shifted. People found themselves with less disposable income and more competing expenses. During 2024, we saw a noticeable decline in how artists and galleries were commissioning and ordering print editions. There was a growing sense of uncertainty in the market, and this was reflected in the hesitancy to commit to large print runs.

However, as passionate and experienced printmakers, we were determined to find a way forward!

At the heart of what we do is a love for helping artists share their work through print, so we set out to create a solution that would reduce the risks, streamline the process, and ensure a fast turnaround.

And that’s how Bicep Xpress was born.
